Dr. Ritu Khurana

Dr. Ritu Khurana is a board-certified Rheumatologist and Internist at Geisinger Medical
Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She is the Chief Legal Officer for Aimloxy, LLC, which is developing next generation technologies for medicine. She serves on the Board of Health for Lackawanna County and is an active member of the Lackawanna Medical Advocacy Task Force, where she contributes to shaping local health policy and community wellness initiatives. She holds a master’s in legal studies from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law and has completed a Business Leadership program at the LeBow College of Business in Philadelphia. Her interdisciplinary background informs her special interest in healthcare privacy law and the ethical implications of emerging technologies. Dr. Khurana is the author of the book “Privacy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Why an EU Law Should Matter for Every American,” where she explores the global relevance of data protection laws and their impact on healthcare and individual rights in the U.S. A recognized thought leader, she has delivered national presentations on the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare and the ethical challenges it presents. She is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology. Her commitment to global health and women’s empowerment is evident in her recent work organizing a menstrual hygiene panel at the AAPI Global Health Summit at AIIMS New Delhi, India, in collaboration with WHEELS Global Foundation. She led a menstrual hygiene product drive at Geisinger CMC, served as a speaker supporting survivors of domestic violence to the Women’s Resource Center in Scranton, PA. Dr. Khurana is co-leading Project Kanya with her daughter, a global initiative aimed at ending period poverty and promoting menstrual equity.
