Edward H. Greenwald, Jr.
Mr. Greenwald began his mining career in 1975 following a 3 year engagement in the field of environmental and land use planning involving both foreign and domestic real estate development. He is a 1971 graduate of West Virginia University.
His work in the minerals industry has been broad based and includes all technical and economic elements touching on the exploration, characterization, economics, mining, beneficiation, andmarketing of energy and industrial minerals. Mr. Greenwald has worked extensively in the commercial recovery of marketable minerals and solid fuels from the by-product streams of processed minerals and metals manufacturing.
Ed is the President of Eavenson, Auchmuty & Greenwald, Mining Consultants, Lawrence, Washington County, Pennsylvania. EA&G was founded in Pittsburgh in 1920.
Paul A. Spurgeon
Paul Spurgeon has spent his career in energy technology, project development, strategic planning, finance, mergers & acquisitions, sales & marketing and logistics. Mr. Spurgeon led DTEPepTec, a subsidiary of DTE Energy, in commercializing new technology for cleaning fine coal particles, including the construction and operation of a 150 ton per hour coal cleaning plant in Cadiz, Ohio. Mr. Spurgeon led the sustainability and alternative energy investment programs for Consol Energy and Alpha Natural Resources, two of the largest coal mining companies in the US. Mr. Spurgeon was also the CFO of a subsidiary of DTE Energy that specialized in railroad logistics and structured energy products for the electric utility industry. Most recently, Mr. Spurgeon served as an advisor for several biomass and coal waste-to-steel/energy start-up companies. and currently serves as Senior Vice President for Energy and Environment for Eavenson, Auchmuty & Greenwald, a consulting firm.
Mr. Spurgeon received his Bachelor of Science Degree in geology from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, as well as a Master’s Degree in Geology from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky and an MBA from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Mr. Spurgeon has published articles in paleontology and energy economics.
