Dr. Kushal Adhikari is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Alvernia University. His teaching emphasizes hands-on, practical learning, and his research focuses on integrating sustainability into engineering practices to support resilient communities. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University.

His research areas include sustainable cement and construction materials, wastewater treatment and reuse, and green stormwater management. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, presented nationally and internationally, and contributed to interdisciplinary sustainability research.



Before joining Alvernia, Dr. Adhikari played a leading role in building Civil and Environmental Engineering programs from the ground up, including curriculum development, new course creation, laboratory expansion, and accreditation preparation. He is also active in editorial work, peer review, and professional leadership, and will serve as the incoming Director for both the ASCE Lehigh Valley Section and the Reading Branch, PA. He is committed to connecting academic research, student engagement, industry collaboration, and community needs.
