
Erica Barone-Pricci
Dr. Erica Barone Pricci serves as Provost of Lackawanna College, providing strategic leadership for academic affairs, student affairs, athletics, institutional effectiveness, and student success initiatives. A member of the College's senior leadership team, she has been instrumental in shaping the institution's growth, innovation, and long-term strategic direction throughout her nearly two decades of service.
Most recently, Dr. Barone Pricci has played a leading role in the historic merger and integration of Lackawanna College and Peirce College. As one of the principal architects of the transition, she has helped guide academic planning, accreditation strategy, regulatory compliance, curriculum alignment, and institutional integration efforts critical to the success of the merger. Her leadership has focused on preserving the strengths and legacies of both institutions while creating new opportunities to expand access, improve student outcomes, and strengthen educational pathways for learners across Pennsylvania and beyond.
Throughout her tenure, Dr. Barone Pricci has led numerous transformative initiatives that have advanced the College's academic mission and elevated its reputation. She has overseen the development of new academic programs and majors, launched the institution's first online and bachelor's degree offerings, established the Center for Teaching and Learning, expanded workforce and career-focused education opportunities, and contributed to multiple successful Middle States accreditation actions. Her work has consistently centered on innovation, student achievement, and academic excellence.
Before becoming Provost, Dr. Barone Pricci served as Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, Academic Dean, and Director of Grant Support Services. Since joining Lackawanna College in 2007, she has championed a student-centered approach to higher education grounded in the belief that colleges must meet learners where they are and empower them to achieve their fullest potential.
Dr. Barone Pricci holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Marywood University, a Master of Arts in English from Lehigh University, where she held a teaching fellowship, and a Ph.D. in Human Development with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Marywood University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Villanova University, further strengthening her expertise in organizational leadership, strategic management, and institutional transformation.
A recognized leader in higher education, Dr. Barone Pricci regularly contributes to accreditation, governance, and strategic planning efforts within the broader higher education community and serves on evaluation teams for institutional accreditation reviews.
Dr. Barone Pricci resides in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Vince, their son, Vincie, and their cats, Rocky and Junior.
